Microfibres Glass/window cloths 10 cloths

Microfibre glass cloths, ten to a pack, for windows, mirrors, windscreens and interior glass. The weave is flat and closed rather than waffled, so it lifts dust and finger marks and leaves the glass nearly dry. Used damp, they’ll do routine glass on water alone.

• Smooth closed weave. It’s the construction sold for glass and brightwork, so it polishes marks out rather than pushing them round.
• Light on cleaner. Too much product is what streaks glass. For oily film add a glass cleaner.
• Washable and reusable. Cost per clean drops with every wash. Keep fabric softener out, it blocks the capillary action, and keep them off worn or rough surfaces, which shred the fibres.
• Not a disinfectant. Microfibre lifts soil, it doesn’t sanitise, and the tight weave that suits glass is the wrong one for hygiene duty. Limescale on shower glass needs a chemical with dwell time.
