This page explains where we deliver, what delivery costs and how long it takes. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions.

Where we deliver

We deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only. We can’t currently ship outside the UK.

On orders under £500, delivery to some remote postcodes may cost more than mainland delivery. That includes the Scottish Highlands and islands and Northern Ireland. Orders of £500 or more are delivered free to every UK address we can reach. The delivery price you see at checkout is the price you pay.

Delivery costs

  • Orders of £500 or more: free UK delivery.
  • Orders under £500: the courier charge is calculated from your delivery address and the weight of your order, and shown at checkout before you pay.
  • 25L containers, 210L drums and 1000L IBCs: sold on a quoted price that includes delivery. See Larger sizes below.

Delivery times

We dispatch your order once your payment has been confirmed. We aim to dispatch within 1 to 2 working days. Parcels travel by DPD on a two-working-day service, so most orders arrive within 3 to 4 working days of being placed. Orders placed after 12pm on a working day count as placed the next working day. Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding UK bank holidays.

Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. If something is going to hold your order up, we’ll tell you.

Larger sizes

25L containers, 210L drums and 1000L IBCs are priced on a quote that includes delivery. Drums and IBCs are too large and heavy for a parcel courier, so they travel by pallet, and the cost depends on where they’re going and what access the vehicle has. Use the Get Quote button on the product page, or email Emma at emma@emchem.co.uk or call 01745 343912 with the products, sizes and delivery postcode.

Pallet deliveries are kerbside. When you ask for your quote, tell us about any access restrictions, whether you need a tail-lift, or if you have a narrow delivery window.

Aerosols and hazardous products

Some of our products are classified as hazardous for transport, including aerosols and flammable liquids. We pack and send them under the courier’s dangerous goods rules. For a few remote destinations this can limit the services available. If it affects your order, we’ll contact you before dispatch. If we can’t deliver an item, we’ll cancel it and refund it in full, including any delivery charge.

When your delivery arrives

Please check your order when it arrives. If anything is damaged, leaking or missing, or if it’s the wrong item, email Emma at emma@emchem.co.uk within 5 days of delivery. Include your order number and, if there’s something to photograph, a photo of the problem. That lets us raise it with the courier and send a replacement quickly. Don’t use a leaking container. Keep it upright, away from children and animals, and wait for our instructions.

If you’re buying as a consumer, reporting within 5 days is a request that helps us, not a condition, and it doesn’t affect your legal rights. If you’re buying for a business, you need to tell us within 5 days of delivery. See our Returns Policy.

Missed and lost deliveries

If you’re out when DPD calls, they’ll leave a card or send a message with options to rearrange. If your order hasn’t arrived within 5 working days of dispatch, let us know and we’ll trace it. If it’s lost in transit, we’ll send a replacement or give you a full refund.

Safety data sheets

If you buy for work, we’ll email you the safety data sheet for each hazardous product with your first order of it, and again whenever the sheet is updated. Anyone can ask Emma for a safety data sheet at any time at emma@emchem.co.uk.
